Trekking- there are many trekking companies in Pai. Some specialise in Hilltribe treks, some in nature treks and some combine trekking with rafting and elephant riding. Whilst we prefer to remain impartial and not to push one company over the others, we are happy to offer advice.
Rafting- Pai offers both white water rafting and the more gentle bamboo rafting. Rafting usually takes place from June to February, with the months of August and September offering the most exciting rapids.
Elephant Riding – there are a number of elephant camps situated just outside of the town centre. If you don’t have your own transport, but would like to go, we can direct you to the offices where you can arrange to be picked up. You can swim and bathe with the elephants if you want, it’s great fun!
Thai Boxing- we have a very good Thai boxing school in Pai. You can arrange to learn as a one off session or a longer course. It’s a great way to get fit and is really fun too!
Others- a paint balling place has recently opened in Pai and there are possibilities to go horse riding or even in a cart driven by a buffalo! Ask for more info!
Cooking Courses – there are several places that offer courses in Thai cooking. They range from 1 day to 3 days.
Waterfalls- there are 3 waterfalls near Pai. They can be reached by motorbike, bicycle OR by walking. They are at their most beautiful in rainy season, but can be visited at anytime of the year.
Hot Springs- we have some natural hotsprings and some resorts with man-made pools filled with water from the hotsprings. Both are worth visiting, especially in cold season when it’s chilly outside!
Temples- Pai has it’s fair share of temples. Most worthy of note is Wat Mae Yen. Situated at the top of a hill, you get a good view over Pai valley from around the temple.
Day Trips- it is possible to take a day trip out to the caves in Soppong – Cave Lod – or even as far as Mae Hong Son, where you can see the Long Neck Hilltribes. You can either do this yourself with a motorbike or arrange it through one of the agencies in Pai.
